The other day I was searching through Amazon.com looking for an artist I had just heard played on the folk station on aol radio. It was a song by Christine Lavin called "What was I Thinking?" from her album "Sometimes Mother Really Knows Best". The song was hilarious and I thought I just might want to get some of her albums. Turns out most of recording of live performances and sounded very funny as she makes social commentaries through her songs. While searching through her recordings, a group called Four Bitchin' Babes was recommended, so I started looking at their stuff as well. I accindently click on "one click shopping" and within a few minutes I found out I had ordered one of their albums. At first I tried to find out how to cancel the order, then figured, what the heck, maybe this is something I'll enjoy. I'm sitting here listening to it now and IT'S GREAT!!!!!! With songs like Viagra In the Water, Toe to Toe with The HMO, and Beautiful Fool. But the words on the song "If I Were Brave" really caught my eye and heart.
What would I do if I knew
that I could not fail?
If I believe would the wind
always fill up my sail?
How far would I go, what could I achieve
Trusting the hero in me?
If I were brave I'd walk the razor's edge
Where fools and dreamers dare to tread
And never lose faith
even when losing my way
What step would I take today if I were brave?
What if we're all meant to do
what we secretly dream?
What would you ask if you knew
you could have anything?
LIke the mighty oak sleeps
in the heart of a seed
Are there miracles in you and me?
If I were brave.........
If I refused to listen to the voice of fear
Woud the voice of courage
whisper in my ear?
What would I do today if I were brave?
What would I do today if I were brave?
What would I do today if I were brave?
The songs on this album are funny or thoughtful, crazy and loving. I think Four Bitchin' Babes just won another fan! Check out their website
